Okay the truth is that flattery will get you everywhere. And when it comes to this case it was a group of scammers that will use flattery to hijack your Facebook page. Maybe you aren’t aware of the value of a Facebook page with thousands of ‘fans’ or ‘friends’ that come with it. Those friends, relatives and neighbors that have ‘liked’ your fan page show a certain amount of trust in you and/or your cause. That trust is a valuable asset to scammers.
To have a ‘target market’ of people who have a common link through you, or through your page means they can assume your identity and make requests of everyone on your fan page for money or for their information. Facebook has a record of the name, in some cases the phone number, and information about where do you actually live. This information value to those who would take advantage of others through scams. Memorial Day is about remembering those who have given their lives for USA for the ones they leave behind can remain free. It’s a time to honor the sacrifices made by those heroes. A day to reflect on a loved one who has passed away, and to do so in a manner reflective of the service they provided. This overwhelmingly good feeling of hearth and home, of family and of God and Country is another day for scammers seeking to take advantage of a lot of people. The Syrain electronic army is back in news again. SEA is known for their annoying and potentially dangerous antics of hacking major news and other organizations that they see as a threat to Syrian President Assad’s reign. Recently, the SEA has hacked various Twitter accounts of the associate NPR, and the BBC. While they will occasionally use their access to millions of followers to send nonsense laced messages, most times it is to post pro-Assad tweets as if they are coming from the hacked company. In a recent attempt, they tweeted about the recent blast in the white house, where the President Barack Hussein Obama got injured. This tweet caused Stock Exchange of NewYork to plummet briefly. It all began when Rud India Chains employee, Amit Patwardhan began selling his company’s secrets to the competition. Rud India Chains officials decided to get proof of his scheme and apparently used that proof to fire him. Unfortunately for the company officials, the method they used to obtain the proof, in the form of Mr. Patwardhan’s personal bank account records appears to have been illegal. The company then used this ‘proof’ in a civil case against their former employee to prove their allegations against Patwardhan. The court determined that Rud India Chains hacked into the bank’s website and obtained Mr. Patwardhan’s statements without his permission, a violation of the Information Technology Act of 2000.
While Director General of Police Sanjeev Dayal concluded that Mr. Patwardhan’s disloyalty to his employer means that he is not planning on imposing punishment on Rud India other than that of finding them guilty of violating Patwardhan’s privacy. Read the rest of this entry »

A few weeks ago, the hacker who goes by the Twitter name @Reckz0r claimed to have hacked into the Microsoft Xbox live servers and gotten access to Xbox users personal information. He tweeted several brags about his accomplishments claiming that Microsoft had gotten “owned”. This caused a wave of reaction and ended up getting repeated on several sites before the news came out that his claims were categorically false and technically impossible as the site he claimed to have hacked was the wrong one entirely. Sky News is the one of the British parts of Rupert Murdoch’s worldwide media empire. It started with the now well-known News of the World debacle that included reporters hacking into the phones of families of British service personnel who had been killed on duty. Now, another of Murdoch’s media power houses, the Sky News has been accused of the same type of offense. Invading the privacy of innocent citizens in hopes of getting news to print.
